Mechanical Characteristics Generation in the Workpiece Subsurface Layers through Cutting

نویسندگان

چکیده

The cutting process generates specific mechanical characteristics in the subsurface layers of shaped parts. These have a decisive influence on working properties and product durability these orthogonal structural heat-treated steel’s effect machined was evaluated by instrumented nanoindentation method sclerometry (scratch) method. As result this study, relationship between work tertiary zone total deformation during indenter penetration established. dependence depth workpiece also studied. carried out at different speeds tool rake angles. speed increase angle cause an maximum sclerometry. Simultaneously, measured microhardness surfaces decreases with both angle.

Bone Generation through Mechanical Loading

Bones are dynamic and responsive organs, they regulate their strength and mass according to the loads which they are subjected. Because, the Wnt/β-catenin pathway has profound effects on the regulation of bone mass, we hypothesized that mechanical loading of bone cells stimulates Wnt/β-catenin signaling, which results in the generation of new bone mass. Mechanical loading triggers the secretion...

Using the Results of CPTu to Identify the Subsurface Sediment Layers in Urmia Lake Bridge Site, NW Iran

Specifying the soil types and profiling the subsurface soil layers are the excellent examples of CPTu test potentials. In this research, the capability of CPTu test for specifying subsurface soil layers and classification of sediments in Urmia Lake is investigated. According to previous studies, the sediments of Urmia Lake are commonly fine grained and soft deposits with organic materials. To e...

Influence of cutting parameters on the depth of subsurface deformed layer in nano-cutting process of single crystal copper

Large-scale molecular dynamics simulation is performed to study the nano-cutting process of single crystal copper realized by single-point diamond cutting tool in this paper. The centro-symmetry parameter is adopted to characterize the subsurface deformed layers and the distribution and evolution of the subsurface defect structures. Three-dimensional visualization and measurement technology are...

Elastic fields of quantum dots in subsurface layers

In this work, models based on conventional small-strain elasticity theory are developed to evaluate the stress fields in the vicinity of a quantum dot or an ordered array of quantum dots. The models are based on three different approaches for solving the elastic boundary value problem of a misfitting inclusion embedded in a semi-infinite space. The first method treats the quantum dot as a point...

Determination of workpiece flow stress and friction at the chip–tool contact for high-speed cutting

This paper presents a methodology to determine simultaneously (a) the flow stress at high deformation rates and temperatures that are encountered in the cutting zone, and (b) the friction at the chip–tool interface. This information is necessary to simulate high-speed machining using FEM based programs. A flow stress model based on process dependent parameters such as strain, strain-rate and te...
